Removing Barriers, Building Belonging
Pay Your Life Forward Subsidy Fund
For many older adults in our community, staying active and connected is becoming harder to afford. Rising costs mean some must choose between a fitness class, a day program, or everyday essentials.
The Pay Your Life Forward Subsidy Fund removes financial barriers so that every older adult can participate fully in OSCC55+ programs, services, and activities, regardless of income.
Through this fund, we provide subsidized memberships, program fees, and transportation assistance for seniors who might otherwise be unable to take part. Whether it’s joining a fitness class, attending a social program, accessing foot care clinics, or participating in an Adult Day Program, your support opens the door to connection, purpose, and better health.
Your Impact:
Every donation directly supports seniors in our community.
- $25 provides a membership to an Oshawa resident
- $60 supports transportation to and from programs for a week
- $80 provides a week’s worth of care in one of our Adult Day Programs
- $138 provides 6 months of foot care appointments for a diabetic senior
- $200+ creates ongoing access to wellness and social programs for multiple seniors in need
When you give, you’re not just donating. You’re changing lives.
Frequently asked questions:
Q - How will my donation be used? Are there any administration fees?
Q - Will I get a tax receipt for my donation?
Yes. All donations of $10 or more will automatically be tax receipted through our secure website donation platform. Donations received through our front desks will have tax receipts mailed or emailed out after your donation is processed.
Q - How do you determine if a senior is low-income?
We use the Low Income Cut Off (L.I.C.O) threshold which is determined annually by Statistics Canada to determine a seniors’ eligibility to access the Pay Your Life Forward Subsidy Fund.
Seniors can apply to the fund beginning in Winter 2026.
Q – How is eligibility determined?
Eligibility will be determined based on household income. An applicant may qualify up to 100% of percent of their requested program, service or fee per activity session. In order to assist as many people as possible, only one request may be made per session based on available donated funds.
Application forms will be available as of January 1, 2026 both online and at any OSCC55+ front desk location. Our finance team will follow up with applications in the order received and as donated funds are allocated. All financial information collected will be held in the strictest confidence. Once approved, the subsidy will be updated in our registration system on the members' individual accounts for use.
Q – When will I receive the subsidy?
Every donation to the Pay Your Life Forward Subsidy Fund will be tracked and allocated to applicants as soon as possible. Donated funds will flow to approved applicants in Spring of 2026.
Q – When will donations to the Pay Your Life Forward Subsidy Fund be accepted?
Donations will be accepted beginning in December 2025.
Q – Will I be notified when my donation is used by a senior in need?
